In 1908, Architect Newton C. Gauntt, a native of Illinois, designed the First Baptist Church. It was built at the cost of $26,182, according to National Register nomination documents.
The First Baptist Church has been a prominent, highly visible landmark in Downtown Yakima for over 100 years. It has served many purposes and people over the last century, making it loved and seen as a monumental piece of Yakima’s history.
We plan to honor the historical integrity of the building as we open the doors to continue and serve the people of Yakima and beyond by providing them with the opportunity to see where the historic and modern collide.
Our convenient downtown location allows plenty of ease for travelers and guests with our onsite studio apartments available for rent and the nearby hotels. In addition, we have ample close parking and eateries.
